October Goals

Someone made a post on Facebook that really got me thinking, it read "There are 90 days left in the year and this decade. What are you going to do with them?" Although, at the start of every month, I reflect on the previous months successes and lessons learned and make goals for the next month; this hit me hard.

 

Over the next 31 days, I want to think about what I want out  of 2020, my 30's and this next chapter of my life so by the time December rolls around, I know exactly what my resolutions will be for the next year. Each month I will share the goals I am focused on with the intention to  hold myself accountable and inspire you to tackle goals of your own.

 

 

 

Prep for 2020 (and beyond)

 

I really want to spend some introspective time reflecting on what I wanted out of the next stage of life and more specifically, 2020. I really want to look at what I am doing to prepare myself personally and professionally for the next month, year, decade of my life; how are my daily habits impacting who I will be or where I will be; and what changes I want to see in myself. 

 

Understand Nutrition 

 

I want to understand food better. Micros and macros, what I am actually eating and how it impacts my body and learn how to eat when necessary and not out of habit/boredom. This has been something I have struggled with for years but I have found that since I turned 30, I have been more focused on daily habits that negatively impact my overall lifestyle. I by no means want to diet but I want to be aware of what I am eating and cut out foods that make me feel heavy, icky or provide no nutritional value.

 

Exercise/Move Everyday 

 

This has been a process for me throughout the year. I started getting active again in February after falling off during the holidays. I am finally consistently going to the gym 4x a week but would love to go once a day.  I have found on day I go, I make better lifestyle choices when it comes to eating, drinking water and overall mindfulness. I also feel happier and more energetic.

 

Save Money

 

With the holidays coming up and three big trips plans for the next six months, being financially conservative over the next few months is a must. We love splurging on vacations, dining out and just living our best lives in general. In order to enjoy the lifestyle we have become accustomed to, saving money is essential. Understanding what month's carry more financial stresses (birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, vacations, etc.) and anticipating the expenses can make a world of difference.
